It’s 11.30am… and all I have done today is change nappy after nappy after nappy after nappy.
It’s no different from any other day but today the nappies are what stick out in my mind and make me forget about all the other stuff I’ve done today. For instance:
I showered before 8am
I’ve got two babies ready to go out
I’ve got three kids ready for school
I’ve fed five people (not including myself)
I’ve done the school run with five little people
I’ve made three cuppas☕️ (but not managed to drink any of them)
I’ve hoovered my house
I’ve got the two babies down for a nap
I’ve written this post
AAAAND
I’ve changed 𝘧𝘪𝘷𝘦 nappies. Not a million, even if that’s how it feels.
The reason I’m giving you this run down of my day is because I know it’s so easy to get in a rut and only focus on the stuff you 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘯’𝘵 had time to do. I always find this worse after having a few days of everything going smoothly and being able to do more, it makes the days where I literally cannot get to anything else feel a lot harder or like I’m failing in some way. When in reality, I’ve actually achieved the best thing I possibly can already today - I’ve taken care of the people who mean the most to me.
And I know I’m not the only one who feels these things. Every Mama (heck EVERYONE) out there has felt like they are failing at some point or another. I’m not alone. And we are not failing 💪🏼 My advice is to get a pen and paper and write out the things you HAVE done, however small on days like today to remind you of everything we do without acknowledging it. And drop a comment below and let me know what you have done today so far, however small!
And now I’m going to attempt to get a hot cuppa before the babies wake up!
