Defining Moments šŸ’

Here is something I wrote when I first had Joey 15 months ago and never had a chance to post at the time but is still totally on point today - ā£

There have been a couple of defining moments of clarity in my short time of being a Mama. One of which happened last night when settling my baby boy. I noticed a new movement he was doing with his hands, a sort of grabbing twisting motion as he patted around. I thought nothing more of it than to be delighted that he was getting better with his coordination, to be finding new movements. After a few minutes of watching him in delight a thought struck me and I reached out to take his hand. He immediately grabbed my thumb with his tiny hand and stopped his weird little gesture and settled. I realised he had been searching for my hand to soothe him to sleep and I was overwhelmed by love. How extraordinary and sweet. The connection I had with him deepened and Iā€™ve never felt more needed, loved or content in my entire life. I made sure to savour that moment as I knew it would become one of the most special moments of my life. ā£

And it still is to this day. And he still looks for my hand to soothe him which is the best feeling ever. To know you are someone person, the person they go to feel comfort and to feel safe. ā£
